Privacy Policy
Last updated July 27, 2026
This policy explains what Tawney & Associates collects when you visit this site or become a client, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We've kept it short and plain, because that's how we'd want it explained to us.
Who We Are
Tawney & Associates is a personal technology concierge run by Christopher Tawney, based in Nashville, Tennessee. You can reach us any time at chris@tawneyandassociates.com.
What We Collect
Information you give us. When you book a consultation, become a member, or get in touch, we collect your name, email address, and phone number — and, for members, a billing address. If you create a client portal account, we store your email and the details of the work we do for you.
Payment information. Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe shares only what we need to service your account, such as the card's last four digits and whether a payment succeeded.
Information collected automatically. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand which pages are visited and how the site performs. This does not track you across other websites and does not build an advertising profile of you.
How We Use It
To provide and improve our services, schedule and prepare for visits, process payments, send receipts, respond to your messages, and keep you informed about your account. We do not sell your personal information — to anyone, ever.
Who We Share It With
We rely on a small number of providers to run the business. Each one receives only what it needs for its own job, none of them is permitted to use your information for their own purposes, and each handles it under its own privacy terms. Specifically:
Stripe — payments and billing. Your name, email, billing address, and the card details you enter on Stripe's own secure page. We never receive your full card number; Stripe returns only the last four digits and whether a payment succeeded.
Supabase — the database behind your client portal. Your account details, the plan you're on, the visits and hours we log for you, and your invoices.
Vercel — website hosting and the cookieless analytics described above. It sees the ordinary technical information any web host sees in order to serve a page. The analytics are aggregate: which pages are visited and how quickly they load, with no profile of you and no tracking across other sites.
Resend — email delivery. When you send us a request from the portal, or we send you a confirmation, Resend handles the email address and the contents of that message in order to deliver it.
Calendly — scheduling. The name, email, and any details you enter when you book a consultation.
Google (email). Our email runs on Google Workspace, so anything you write to us is stored in a Google mailbox, the same as writing to any Gmail address.
Google (sign-in). Only if you choose “Continue with Google” for your portal account. Google then confirms your identity to us; we send Google nothing it did not already have.
Beyond those, nothing about your visit leaves this site. Even the typefaces you're reading are served from our own domain rather than a font service, so simply browsing here doesn't announce you to anyone.
How Long We Keep It
We keep client and billing records for as long as you have an account with us and afterwards only as long as needed to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, except where we're required to retain it.
Your Choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Just email us. You can unsubscribe from any non-essential message at any time, and members can review or cancel their plan from the client portal whenever they like.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, and access controls to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data with the care we want for our own.
Children
Our services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we will change the date above. For any material changes, we will directly communicate with our members.
